FURTHER GROWTH
ALL OVER THE WORLD

Nautica International is aimed at the international yachting public and is published every two months in English. The objective is two-fold: to contribute to making yachting a wonderful pass time available to all, it is only just starting in the emerging countries, and is possibly a little behind the pace in others that would have the potential to do better; to satisfy the requests of users and operators in the business, who have been asking this of us for many years, in the conviction that the international prestige of our magazine would help stimulate further growth all over the world. As far as the end user is concerned, boating should be made easier and less costly. The right to navigate which was once by concession of the State, should now be extended to all, albeit taking into account what this would entail in terms of safety and infrastructures, whilst keeping a careful eye on the environment surrounding the sea and internal water ways. The nautical sector continues to be a great contributor to the world economy; it does this through high, ever increasing investments, enterprises that bring employment and added value to regions that would otherwise fail to develop, not forgetting the social context of the culture, nautical and sea going formation of children and the young alike. It is only natural therefore, that Nautica International thanks to the efforts of its collaborators, will endeavour to contribute to the technical and production development as a whole, following the sector at 360° wherever possible. At the same time, we will continue to do what we have done for the past forty six years: to attempt to bring navigation, production and marketing rules of the global market, onto a unified basis, to break through the barriers between nations, to support and collaborate with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) on a global basis, and with EURMIG (European Union Recreationl Marine Industry Group) on an EEC basis, enabling the "end user" to be heard wherever necessary, no matter who or where he happens to be.

Who's Who

  • The Publishers, Nautica Editrice, Rome, Italy, was constituted in 1962 with private capital in order to launch Nautica, an international monthly about navigation which was to break with all tradition vis-a-vis the rest of the specialised market, an ongoing success.
  • Nautica, the Italian language monthly international magazine on navigation, is published twelve months a year with a circulation of 50,000 copies monthly - the circulation figure has been certified by ADS, a print and circulation control Bureau, that examines the circulation figures of the main Italian Press representatives on a yearly basis (Nautica is the only publication belonging to the nautical sector, to have requested and have obtained such a certificate);
  • As a supplement to "Nautica" a magazine known as "Superyacht", is distributed every four months (50,000 copies);
  • Superyacht, tri monthly dedicated to leisure yachts above 24 metres in overall length, is issued in two editions, english and italian, each one in 30.000 copy.
  • Following the request of local Publishers, the monthly editions of Nautica are published on a Franchising basis in Greek, (15,000 copies) Croat (12,000 copies) and Chinese, every two months (32,000 copies).

Other publications include:

  • "Pagine Azzurre", a guide to Italian, Côte d'Azur, Corsica and Croatian harbours going via Italy with its islands and archipelagos (30,000 copies);
  • The "Annuario della Nautica" regarding nautical production and accessories sold in Italy, a yearly (30,000 copies). Finally, the Web site: Nautica On Line, one of the more successful nautical web sites on a global basis, with over half a million IPs served every month which generate access to over six million pages.
